The final leg into Key West gave us some time in Nashville before hammering down and getting to the start point of the Atlantic Coast Route. Nashville offered us a glimpse of what this iconic music city has to offer for those visiting Broadway seeking live music performances and a good time.
Our visit was in the morning and we got to witness hard workers unloading and restocking the honky tonks up and down the street. Boxes of adult beverages seemed to be most of the items being brought into these unique and iconic establishments.

We were quick to find a store full of western attire with a sign out front stating that you could buy one pair of boots and get two free. Now that is a knee slapping hell of a deal.

This quick visit to Nashville offered us an opportunity to enjoy the epic neon signs while imagining their beauty while all lit up during the night hours with thousands of people walking up and down the street seeking nothing but a good time. We eventually settled for a coffee and a nice chat with a city ambassador and were just as happy as could be despite missing the nighttime atmosphere.

After Nashville, the last big city before getting spit out of Miami and on down to the Florida Keys was Atlanta. Atlanta was just as a I remembered it as far as bumper to bumper traffic. For the record, if you have a heavy right foot and like to get on down the road, Georgia could be an expensive adventure for you as we saw about a dozen such individuals being pulled over by Georgia’s finest. Somebody has to pay for those nice roads down there.
It was not long before we found ourselves crossing into Florida. It was a glorious site to see the welcome to Florida sign and to know we were about at the end of our time relocating WL.

Florida has been experiencing some torrential downpours as of late and we were fortunate enough to find our last campground not flooded out. We were a little concerned with the warning sign at the back of our campsite and were happy to be inside the van for the night.

Riding through Miami was uneventful and we were soon on our way to Key Largo and the Florida Keys. Folker had a restaurant he wanted to stop by to pay his respects to a formal colleague. There was a sticker placed inside the restaurant a while back that represented his colleague and Folker placed another unit sticker to further honor him. It was a beautiful place and the breakfast was super delicious.

Before we knew it, he had secured a base pass for Folker and we were at our NAS Key West Campground enjoying the epic views outside our front window at our waterfront campsite. We unloaded our bikes and rode into town for a happy hour, dinner and a nightcap. A perfect way to end our 3400+ mile journey to the start point!
