Reunited and it feels so good…
I met Rob at Lost Llama Ranch in Montana on the 4th of July. We were both proudly showing each other our gear and bike setup and I was especially proud of the lightweight titanium camping knife I had for spreading my peanut butter and Nutella on my tortillas on the daily. I was like “oooohh look at this, look at this.”
The next day we depart and we rode together for a little while and then separated and I thought I would never cross paths with this amazing human again. Later that night, I noticed that my knife was gone, lost on the trail. Perhaps, I was just too damn proud of myself and karma taught me a valuable lesson.
Today, I run down to the Hachita Food Mart to meet a cyclist that Jeffrey saw up at Separ heading this way for the night. I was so pleased when this cyclist that rolled in was Rob!
Then the trail magic was truly revealed when he pulls out my long lost knife that a CDT hiker had found on the trail the day I lost it and had shown Rob what he had found. Rob immediately recognized this lost treasure. He then became a super sherpa and perhaps my good karma has been returned. Life is good people!
