Current Adventure: Cycle Oregon

Atlantic Coast Reflection.

The Atlantic Coast Route produced way more variety than I would have ever imagined. From the spectacular beaches of Florida up to the amazing Outer Banks of North Carolina, white sandy beaches were definitely the theme of the South. Once near Richmond, Virginia, the beauty of the country side quickly won my affection. Washington D.C. was as beautiful as always and making our way to New York City offered some unexpected natural beauty throughout to include an unforgettable ride through Amish Country. New York City was simply the highlight of the trip for me. I absolutely loved the controlled chaos of riding a bicycle throughout New York City. I have not felt that alive in quite some time. The Empire State Trail leaving New York City offered the best trail system I have ever ridden and left me hungry for more. New England was a great way to end this adventure as it truly is a gem. From the wooded rolling terrain to the epic coastline of New Hampshire and Maine, I was in cycling heaven it seemed.

Thank you Atlantic Coast!

The experiences of this cycling adventure, like all of my cycling adventures, will happily stay with me forever. The memories will always bring a big smile to my face. Having everything I need to live located on my bike for such a long period of time is always so very refreshing and serves as a friendly reminder that being minimalistic can be liberating in so many ways.

The deep love I have for my family has been ever present during this adventure. I am beyond lucky to have the family that I have and so very fortunate they play along so nicely with me during these epic adventures.

To Folker, you will always be my brother. You endured me for over two months and that says a lot about your patience and mental fortitude. It is hard for any two humans to do what we just did and still be talking at the end of it all. I am very fortunate to have met you two years ago and thanks for joining me this summer. Thanks for always being you throughout it all.

I learn so much about myself during the countless hours I spend on the bicycle and then I learn even more when I reflect on the day’s ride everyday while writing this blog. Thanks again for all the comments and likes on my posts throughout it all. It really is nice to have the dedicated support on a daily basis. Thanks to all of you for being a part of this and the previous two amazing adventures.

Final thoughts, I promise. Please always remember that we live in the most beautiful country in the world with the most incredible and kind humans found anywhere. What has been so nice over these three summers is that I have been able to use a bicycle as my passport to see so much of it. Life is truly good people.
